2021 Missouri Valley Open

MARSHALL, MO - Top NCAA and NAIA teams hit the mats in Marshall, Missouri this weekend at the Missouri Valley Open, crowning eleven champs (235 added at this event) in a weekend full of drama, upsets, and matches between elite opponents. In the end, King won the team race at the Missouri Valley Open with 244 points; McKendree came in second with 210.5, while North Central took third with 178.5 points.

Returning college national champs like Life’s Peyton Prussin (109), King’s Cheyenne Sisenstein (123), McKendree’s Cameron Geurin (130) and Alara Boyd (155), and North Central’s Yelena Makoyed (170) won titles, while freshmen phenoms Olivia Shore (101), Sage Mortimer (116), and McKendree’s Jaycee Foeller (191) put the college wrestling community on notice with title performances against an elite field.

It’s well known in women’s college wrestling that “the MoVal” is not only a precursor to how someone might perform at Nationals, but is a quasi-multi-division nationals as top NCAA and NAIA teams participate. At the end of the season, the NCAA and NAIA will both have their own national tournaments.
