ASHLAND, OR - After a prolific college career and winning a U.S. Open title last year, Joye Levendusky has been named interim head coach Southern Oregon University for the 2024-2025 season.

Levendusky was a five-time college All-American with McKendree University in Illinois and with Southern Oregon University. She placed 7th as a freshman, 4th as a sophomore, and was a two-time national finalist for McKendree. She was also an important piece in the Bearcats winning three straight national titles from 2019-2022 under Coach Sam Schmitz. After graduating from McKendree, the New York native transferred to Southern Oregon where she used her final year of eligibility, reaching the national finals again and helping Southern Oregon win their first-ever women’s national team title in the inaugural season of sanctioned NAIA women’s wrestling.

Right after the 2022-2023 college season, Levendusky won the senior level U.S. Open, putting her in Final X and on the U.S. National Team.

Levendusky stayed on as an assistant coach for the SOU 2023-2024 season under head coach Gabby Weyhrich, who led the program to a national title in 2023 and a third place finish in 2024. SOU competes in the Cascade Collegiate Conference.
