NHSCA Girls Pre-Seeds Are Here!

NHSCA is here. This weekend, March 24-26, at the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach, Virginia, top wrestlers from around the country will converge on the mats for battles between state medalists, state champions, and All-Americans.

The girls division includes a staggering 401 entries, resulting in huge groups with as many as 50 wrestlers (114 pounds). In all there will be 36 nationally-ranked young women competing, including ten in the top 10 and six of those are in the top 5. #1 ranked Emily Sindoni is entered at 120 and Tennessee’s #2 ranked Piper Fowler is registered at 165. If they are ranked, we included their ranking next to their name below.

Below are the top 12 pre-seeds. A few notes before you take a look:

1. As mentioned, the groups are enormous. The 107 class has 45 entries, 114 has 50, 120 has 40, and 126 has 47. These groups are large and deep with talent.

2. Most top 12 seeds are state champs and some are multiple-time state champions. Others are returning NHSCA medalists or USAW All-Americans. There are some very good wrestlers who are not pre-seeded in the top 12.

3. These are subject to change and there will be changes. We are already aware of some weight class shifting even in the process of posting this list. Things are moving too fast to keep up with it as NHSCA is nose to the grind building preliminary brackets, so read this with the understanding that it is fluid. NHSCA has final discretion over these seeds and will determine that during weigh-ins and finalizing brackets.

4. We didn’t have time to dig into every single TrackWrestling profile to see if there were head-to-heads. We did glance when we could at our shared Watchlist doc that we use with USAW and the National Wrestling Hall of Fame for high school rankings but it was impossible to see everything. We’re sorry if we missed something.

5. Unless we knew of the athlete, most of these seeds were based solely on info provided during the registration process.
