As these wrestlers do not compete directly, judging the best wrestler pound for pound is subjective. The criteria used is dominance within weight class, quality of opposition, history of performance against the field, and state & national accolades. In a sense, though creating a list is based on subjective opinions, this purpose of this list is to acknowledge the best wrestlers overall in our state and who might win a tournament if all those ranked were the same size.
